Random use of violence to achieve political ends inflicts damage on innocent people and property, creating terror or fear in them, is called terrorism. The terrorist aim at focusing, attention on his problem by destroying innocent people besides property.

It is not a new phenomenon, but it has changed drastically over the years for the worse. It has become more lethal, more widespread and more difficult to control.
Main causes of terrorism may vary from place to place but its effect is the same that is antinational, anti humanity and anti all ethics. Political, social, Economical and Religious are some of the causes of terrorism.

Religious fundamentalism has been found to be the most important and dangerous reason for terrorism. Some terrorist groups are being trained and prepared for religious causes. Such as all alameda, Jaish-E-Mohammed, Harkal-ul-Mujahidin, SIMI and Taliban.

Social: Social different, racial unrest or ethnical divisions have some times lead to violent activities, that can be categorized as terrorism. A group may turn to arms for their social justice and causes terror in an area-such as.

Political: Lack of equality, freedom, demands of autonomy etc are the most important among main political causes. Suppressing a community, political exploitation and rule without representation etc. may give rise to armed struggle, resulting into terrorist activities.

Economic: Economic disadvantage, exploitation or suppression can be a reason for un satisfaction and this leads to terrorist activities.

Terrorism is not only a problem of India. It has become an Globlal threat. In India terrorism has spread due to economical and religious causes. Technological advances has helped terrorist group to arm themselves with advanced weapons. International funding has increased. There should be cooperation between countries to combat terrorism. The modern face of terrorism can be combated only by a superior intelligence network. Law must be stringent and enforcement machinery should be effective. The law enforcement agency has to think faster and anticipate the terrorist movements. Government has to win confidence of all people for their security. Religions tolerance should be spread among people. Education can play a role in this regard. There should be coordinated and cooperative role required by government. But terrorists do not have always genuine demands, so there should be taken a strong actions against them.
